Liu Lifen, deputy to the National People's Congress and director of Mengxi Cement Laboratory, plans to propose at the National Two Sessions this year to increase the comprehensive utilization of industrial by-product gypsum resources and promote the realization of the "double carbon" goal.
"Industrial by-product gypsum, as one of the eight major industrial solid wastes, involves more than 100,000 enterprises in chemical, electric power, metallurgy, agriculture and other fields. At present, the cumulative stock of industrial by-product gypsum has exceeded 800 million tons. Industrial by-product gypsum A large amount of storage will not only occupy land, but also waste resources. The acid and other harmful substances contained in it will pollute the surrounding environment if not disposed of properly." Liu Lifen said.
Gypsum, cement and lime are also known as the three major building cementitious materials. For every 1 ton of cement produced, the carbon dioxide emission is about 0.9 tons, while the carbon dioxide produced by the production of building gypsum powder is only 0.1 to 0.2 tons. Such as large-scale application can greatly reduce carbon dioxide emissions. However, due to factors such as traditional building structures and building materials usage habits, uneven distribution of resources, lack of high-quality resources, low added value and grade of traditional natural gypsum building materials, and lagging development of prefabricated buildings, my country's gypsum use accounts for a relatively low proportion in the field of building materials.
In order to solve the above problems, Liu Lifen suggested to formulate a mandatory national standard for "gypsum-based self-leveling mortar". Improve the green and low-carbon consumption system and concepts, increase publicity efforts, and create a good atmosphere for promoting the utilization of industrial by-product gypsum. The government has stepped up efforts to sustainable management and utilization of industrial by-product gypsum. Improve the rational understanding of industrial by-product gypsum in relevant application industries and consumer users, and establish a scientific understanding that industrial by-product gypsum is a secondary resource; strengthen the certification management of gypsum building materials green products and services, and establish and improve positive incentives and negative restraint mechanisms , to create favorable conditions for public supervision, so as to effectively promote the sound development of industrial by-product gypsum resource utilization.
